You could make up all sorts of cool technology/alternative lifestyle type thing, think Jetsons/Star Trek. We could have also eschewed technology and live a "simple" life by farming, etc. There's all sorts of ways you could go. Five hundred words is a really short story, only two pages, and because of this your story needs to be really tight. You'll need to introduce the conflict almost right away. In fact, I would just introduce the story with the problem or conflict your character is facing. Good luck!</p></blockquote><p></p>
