Problem with brakes on my truck?

I have a half ton 1997 Chevy 2wd ext cab. My left front brake is not working when i hit brakes truck jerks real hard to right and occasonally the left brak will engage but not relase have taken caliper apart and it seems to go in and out just fine wandering if it could be master cylnder or brake booster maybe i think caliper is ok

If only the right side is working, then it is the left side that is bad. Replace it, and lube the sliding areas, and such when putting things back together.
