I have a verizon FiOS STB ( motorola ) connected on to a ONKYO audio receiver which in turn connects to my TV and my 5.1 surround sound system. the problem I encounter with my STB is that when ever I turn off the STB when done watching TV for the day, I also turn off my receiver. but the moment I turn off my receiver, STB becomes problematic, and starts to flicker its number on the STB every 3 sec. I would have to soft reset my motorola STB ( plug off power cable ) to get it working properly again. If I turn off my STB without turning off my receiver, STB will power on again normally. TRIED: calling verizon to do hard reboot on system. (doesn't help) replacing motorola HD STB (doesn't help) Verizon tech coming over to check HDMI connections (doesn't help)
