Problems syncing to LG rumor for us cellular?

I have the black LG rumor from US Cellular and a micro SD 2gb memory card for it. I used the adapter and put 3 songs on it. but when i put it back in my phone the songs are not there. i tried into the audio and i also tried into the my music file folders but nothing is working! help please.
 
are they mp3 format? if not then that's why! make sure if they are mp3 files and not wma or anything like that.
