This is a usual lie of catholics to deiceve protestants-that protestantism was against sale of indulgences by catholic priest, and not against catholic practices-of praying to saints(dead)/mary and using images/statues of saints for prayer/worship.I mean if this was so why don't protestant churches rejoin the catholic church as the sale of indulgences has ended. They will not as protestantism was mainly against these 2 idolatrous practices and less against the sale of indulgences. That is why millions of catholics and orthodox are joining protestantism. Also another foolish myth of catholics is that intercession of saints(dead) is similar to asking a living person for help, when NT clearly says there is only one intercessor b/n man and god ie. Jesus christ.
