ps3 40 gig or Sony Blu Ray Player?

i want to get a blu ray player...i have a 52 inch samsung LCD 1080p television....we just got the hd added to our cable package and it looks great...2 movies i was wanting to buy are i am legend and i robot on blu ray...i hear the blu ray looks great...i would rather have a sony blu ray player due to its my living room...but which should i go for..THANKS
I just keep hearing about how the blu ray players wont play the newer disks...if thats true i should wait...but i dont know thats why im asking lol
 
Considering that a blu-ray player composes more than half the cost of a PS3, I personally would choose the PS3 over the player by a long-shot. (Especially since they're both sony made, they have the same technology.)
 
Well, it's obvious depending on what you want.

With a ps3 you have harddrive and can play games, but it's a little weird having the blu ray remote.

If you just want to watch movies, then get the blu-ray player.

In your situation, I would go for the ps3 since it is a good investment in the future.
