I brought my puppy in for a trim a couple of weeks ago...He was about 5 months old at the time....When I brought him in, I told them I wanted to get the puppy trim, (that was what they suggested), so I said ok...When I picked him up a few hours later, he looked exactly the same except that they gave him a bath...My question is...did I get ripped off, cause they didnt touch one hair on him, or are you not supposed to cut puppies hair until there a little older? I think they trimmed his nails down but I know they did not touch his hair.

it sounds like they beat you for cash. if so, just learn from the experience

should always ask ppl what they do and what their services are, that way you get all the facts straight up........puppies need haircuts too so sounds like they ripped you off. :-(

long haired puppies can get trims whenever short hair i'm not too sure but if you specifically asked for a hair cut they should have done that for you.

a puppy cut is a real cut.

imagine a poodle that had never had its hair cut. a puppy cut would cut all the hair short, and the puppy would be curly all over. but a puppy cut on a cocker spaniel wouldn't look very different from the way you brought the dog in.

and on a chihuahua, there really wouldn't be anything to cut.

All depends on the breed of the dog. Typically a puppy cut is a fluffy. full bodied style. Some breeds have "patterns" like cockers & schnauzers and even the puppy cuts utilize the pattern. Unfortunately, if you didn't say anything within a day or so, you probably won't get any freebies. 5 month old puppies can certainly get their hair cut and they should have trimmed around his privates, his paws, and his eyes even if they just gave him a bath.

I would find out what is all included in a "trim." Maybe a trim at that groomer is different than what you are used to... Maybe they did actually trim a small amount of fur... I would talk to the manager and find out.
