We have a new puppy and so far beyond just being stubborn for potty training and a little more nippy than we'd like, he has been a good puppy. Playful, happy, smart, and loved his crate. Today and not the whole day just very recently I took him outside to piddle after he took a nap in his crate room. He whimpered when I picked him up and leashed him. I set him down and let him do his thing and then when I picked him up he whimpered louder and when I tried to remove his leash he started to holler, snap at my hands, and writhe to get free as if I was hurting him. I set him down and he stopped and went back to what he was doing. I picked him up again and same thing, though louder this time and more vicious with the biting. I had to get my wife out side to help me take his leash off without loosing a finger. He is 8 or 9 weeks old, we have had him for 2 weeks, he has his shots, eats just fine, drinks plenty of water and shows no other signs of pain when I touch him. Mini Schnauzer.
Thank you all for your quick responses. I will call his breeder and my vet and see if a solution can be find. He is playing right now like nothing in the world is wrong. Even lets me pick him up. Its just when we go near his leash.
