i'm not allowed to let him sleep on my bed plus my bed ain't big and he's not potty trained yet. he keeps whining and trying to jump on my bed and even he's so small, he managed to get on bed after many tries. i don't like him crying either. what should i do? it's a Yorkshire terrier and he is 20 weeks old.

So stick him in his crate next to your bed and ignore him. Every time you pick him up after he whines, he learns that all he has to do is whine and he gets whatever he wants.

He loves you and wants to sleep with you.

If he can't sleep with you, then get a crate and crate train him.
There will be an adjustment period, in which he will cry until he gets used to the routine.

Stick with the routine.

Don't put him on your bed, that only trains you. Meaning that he will soon learn that all he needs to do is to whine a bit and you give in.

Well it depends, have you ever let him sleep on your bed before? if so, he is used to having a better environment to sleep on. Not his old bed, he wants the more better bed. Try putting him on a leash as he goes to sleep, so he can't run around loose to jump on your bed. So the reason is, if he already had felt your bed before, he knows there is a better place to sleep. Remember, for Yorkies sizes, you should no use a collar, but a harness.

sleep on the floor with him or get him another puppy.
its just like a baby, you odnt want to leave them all by themselves.
dogs get scared too
