Suddenly that 10K that I could kick @ss in on my every day routes become a marathon to be. I can't run without stopping and I NEVER stop. How do I do a race where I can get over the issue that I can't run without stopping, how can I talk myself into running that next mile when I can do it everyday without fail? How do I get past the amount of people in the race that zoom by me...
Do you eventually overcome this by doing Races galore or is this a case of it's all a mental block? I normally can talk myself into anything...so why are races different?
I'm more than capable of running a half-marathon, already upto 11 miles at times and it didn't hurt or bother me and did that in 1hr40mins the first time out...I want to do a half-marathon race next yr but the thought of a Race makes my stomach churn...but I want the medal and I want it time to *officially* proof my self-worth.
