It's very typical for someone who has been with only one person since very young to grow out of love. They are still kids themselves and as you grow older people grow apart. I'm sure your sister is like you said, feeling left out. As she sits home alone with her child it seems the world is passing her by. You can't compare your relationship to your sisters because they are completely different.My advice is continue to be there for your sis as this can be an extremely difficult process.
