reboot and select proper boot device?

my boyfriend and me were just talking and suddenly his pc went out, upon startup it says reboot and select proper boot device, he can get to bios to where you would change the boot device but the only options are cd floppy and disable, any fixes? hurry plz

It might be an HDD failure, in which case you'll have to get a new hard drive.
