Receiving Internet upstairs?

Hi,
My brother lives in the apartment 2 floors under mine. He has Internet in his apartment and I would like internet in mine. The problem is, I don`t want to pay for a monthly Broadband (UK) connection, when I`ve been told, that all I need is a Wireless Router to pick up a connection from my brother`s computer. I was given a Netgear, wireless-G54 router, WGR614. Is this all I need, or is there other stuff? Do I need a landline telephone? (I don`t have one).
I would really appreciate some advice on what I need to get and what I need to do.

You need something to send the wireless signal which you already have, the router.

You also need a wireless receiver. These can be PCI and fit internally into your box or USB and just plug in. Try to get a NetGear one if you can as they seem to work better with their own kind but any one will do it.
