Receiving Russian satellite channels in the US?

Doubtful. Brouadcast TV satellites are geostationary, which means they move at the same rotational frequency as the earth and are always in the same place in the sky (and always over the same place on the earth - hence the term geostationary).

So, unless you live at Sarah Palin's house and can see Russia, I doubt you can position a satellite antenna to where you can pick up a Russian TV broadcast satellite.
