I was with someone for two years, and it just ended two months ago. He says he wants to try again but he never ever wants to have that serious talk that I think would help us, and just blows me off. Or just blows me off, period. I don't trust him, but some strong feelings are still there. Also, it has to be long-distance now.
I noticed a guy in one of my classes, and I started to like him. And it's very very rare for me to find someone I like. But he seems perfect. I love his voice, especially. He made me realize that my ex is not irreplaceable, as he claims to be, but also that it's so hard to find someone I like. I'm shy, though, so I don't even think I have a chance. Also, this is college, not high school, so not everyone knows one another.
Should I just cut ties with the former? I might find something about the crush that I can't accept, either. However, in my limited experience, it's much harder to get over a crush than an ex. The crush has most likely never hurt you badly. In fact, I've never really gotten over an infatuation while still in contact with him; they've always just moved away or something.
Have you ever felt that nobody out there appeals to you? Have you been proven wrong?
