red eyed turtle?! what is the name?!?!?

i was exploring the back yard woods when i discovered a turtle that has red eyes! I'm not sure what the true name of the turtle is and i tried to search the internet for it but there was too many results. it had rectangular yellow strips and dots and had red eyes that were creepy. can anyone tell me what its called?
