Relationship help. Girls please help?

Ok well I told my best friend that I like her. She said she didn't feel the same way, we didn't speak for a month after that. Last Friday she approached me and asked how I was doing and she gave me a hug and stuff. Then lunch comes and she was holding me and holding my hands. We both agreed we weren't going to date, but now I kinda wish I said yes because now its uber awkward between me and her, I was wondering if I could run that by her again. Please help, every time she walks away or looks like she's mad I think it's my fault because I think I'm showing too much affection or not enough or whatever.
