Ok, here's my story. I would appreciate if people please took the time to read my story before answering, and I will gladly reward 10 points to the best answer.
Ok, so I met this girl about a year ago exactly, but see, I kinda met her online.....sooo yeah. I live in Florida, and she lives is California, so its a 3-hour difference in the time.
Anyways, we've now known each other a year, talking to each other through email and through instant messenging, a couple of things happend before and we ended up talking on and off like months at a time sometimes, but that was just for other stuff, we always wanted to be with each other.
We never really talked about it much, and knew each other from our emailing and messenging and our myspace and facebook profile pics, but then we both thought it would be cool communicating otherwise like over the phone.
So we decided that we should call each other. Btw, were both teenagers living with our parents, so yeah.
Ok, so she has free nights and weekends and so do I, so I have to call her after 12am my time so that it is 9pm her time so it will be free for both of us.
So the first time I call her, we were so happy and glad to hear each others voices, because then it calmed any doubts i had before about this being legit, and the same with her, and we both know that we are really who we we say we are and stuff.
Well, we talked like a little over 2 hours. Now thats understandable for the first time. The second nights, we talked it was late, and her dad was walking around, so we talked a bit and said our "love you baby" and that was it for the night. Btw, we love each other. =P
Ok, now here comes the other part. I call her tonight cause we planned on talking tonight, and its the weekend so its free anytime, but we decided on a time at night at 8pm her time, 11pm my time. Anyways, I called her again, this was probably my 4th or 5th time calling her so far, and it just seems like the the phone calls are getting longer, but idk if in a good way.
Like I called this morning to say good morning cause we both wanted to, it was just under 2 hours, and the call tonight ran a bit over 3 hours!
I'm not saying that I dont want to talk to her, because I really really do. It's just that those hours that we spent talking, there was alot of awkward silences in between.
I'm that kind of person that doesn't like those awkward silences and unfortunately I just come up with random stuff that might some be stupid. I dont wanna look like an idiot, but see I just dont know HOW YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO END A PHONE CALL THE RIGHT WAY.
We usually talk about pretty good stuff and like how we are doing, what were going to be doing, and what we are going to be doing, and that usually takes up 25-40 minutes on the phone which isnt a bad thing. But I just dont know what to do from then, because there ends up being the awkward silences from there.
Ok here's my dilemma, if I said okay bye and hung up, well, like today for example, its free weekend minutes all day, or any other day where I have no excuse to keep talking to her, so me hanging up and saying bye seems like an excuse, but I dont want her to think that I dont wanna talk to her, because like I said I really do, so then I try to keep the call going.
I guess you can't keep a call going forever, but its hard ending the call, and then I get worried, because if I try to make it longer, I dont want her to start getting annoyed by me, which I think she might be getting annoyed a bit, but I hope not. I just hope i didnt screw up. =[ And by talking on the phone with her a long time, I dont want her to think of me as boring either or something like that. Because I usually come up with random stupid things sometimes to try and keep the conversation going.
I DO NOT WANT TO LIE TO HER EITHER. So that is not an option.
The thing is, after that like first interesting 25-40 minutes of conversation we BOTH run out of things to talk about, but we dont know what to do from there.
She's the kind of person that usually talks when the other person talks first, but NOT during the beginning of our phone call, when its like very interesting. She usually is like that only after we both kinda run oout of things to talk about.
Ok, so I think that I might be annoying her but idk by trying to keep the phone call going, and then I think I would hurt her feelings if I just hung up if there's really no reason for me to not talk to her, just like in the free nights and weekends scenario. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER, and I dont wanna lose her, and she said that she loves me and that nothing I can do could annoy her, weird her out or anything like that. But I think maybe but dont know but I think she might be getting annoyed a bit, but idk.... SO WHAT DO I DO????? WHAT ARE THE RULES WHEN IT COMES TO TALKING OVER THE PHONE IN RELATIONSHIPS???? PLEASE HELP.
It seems like the shorter the calls the more meaningful it is, and that the longer ca
