Repairing a Hyundai 42" Plasma?

I got a 42" plasma screen Hyundai television for free because it isn't working correctly. When I turn it on, half of the screen works fine, but the other half is mostly black with a few red vertical lines on it. I googled the tv model (HPT4250-h), and found a trick where I can heat the back of the tv with a hair dryer. After a few minutes of blowing warm air on the back of the television, the bad half of the screen turns on and it works perfectly after that.

Anyone else have a similar problem and either a quick fix or an estimate of the cost to repair?
