I brought my porsche cayenne to the garage (dealer) for the spring maintenance and was told I needed to replace the brakes (pads, etc..) The cost: 1200$ plus tax. My car only has 47,000 kms on it and it's a 2008 model. I only drive it for errands and I do not abuse it in any way. Did I get ripped of ?

For a full set of pads and rotters on a high end vehicle you 500-800 installed. Assuming you use high end performance parts. I have seem calipers go for 300 each from a dealer and that is before labour. So the price sounds reasonable to me. Calipers should not need to be replaced after 47,000 km but it is not unheard of.
By the sounds of it just a bit of bad luck on your part.

Nope that sounds about right. That should be for the front only. I paid $2500 but I also got new tires.
