Replacing chapters on fanfiction?

I have a story with quite a few chapters, but then I decided to rewrite it (because it wasn't making a lot of sense) but every chapter has heaps of reviews (and call me vain but I don't want to lose them) so I haven't been deleting and re-posting - I've been replacing.

But does fanfiction notify watchers when you 'edit' a chapter? Because, in this sense 'edit' means fully replace and rewrite.

No, unfortunately it doesn't. On FanFiction, when you "replace" a chapter it basically means altering it, it's nothing new so it won't notify your readers.

What you could do is send an identical message out to all your reviewers, notifying them of the change. Then they would know what you've done. Hope this helped!
