Royce White is a talented basketball player. Very talented. However, the Houston Rockets should release him. Why should the Rockets waive their 16th overall selection in the 2012 NBA Draft? Royce White isn’t worth the hassle.
In fact, I doubt Royce White will every play professional basketball. And, honestly, I don’t think he ever planned to play. Ever since he was drafted, he’s been trying to take a stand on mental illness.
But according to reports, the Rockets have attempted to go the extra mile. White doesn’t think that Houston is doing enough.
White is a good story but it’s not realistic that he’ll ever amount to much in the NBA. First of all, he’s afraid to fly. That’s a non-starter right there. Secondly, he has frequent anxiety attacks. How is a pro basketball player going to deal with anxiety attacks during a game? It’s just not possible.
