Rogers provides H phone, I'net, and Cable TV services.
A rep from Rogers called me last Saturday and offered a $10 discount per month for 12 months on my h phone service if I allowed them to run the telephone line off their cable network rather than the existing telephone network.
This seemed like a deal too good to pass up. However, I have been around for a long time (50 years) and am suspicious of a deal that is to good to pass up. Hence I declined.
After that I started thinking why they offer that kind off deal. I concluded that once I am switched over to their cable network, they will cut the existing telephone lines to such a point that it will be expensive to get them reconnected.
I called Telus, another home phone service provider, and enquired about my suspicions about Rogers. They confirmed that was exactly what Rogers does.
I signed up with Telus for a great intro deal. The regular fee is less than Roger reg fees.
What is your opinion on Rogers tactics?
