Rooting the samsung moment?

I'm having trouble rooting my samsung moment. The version is DI06. I've followed almost every direction out there ans am still getting the problem, "cannot read bianary file" when I try to to the recovery file. It is in the right folder and is SW upgrade, not SW upgradelite. What am i doing wrong? I think I need a .tar file instead of the .rfs file that i keep pasting into the recovery. If anyone has a step-by-step instructions and/or download of the correct .tar recovery file, please help me out! Also, any cool ideas on what I can do with my phone once it is rooted????
