I'm looking to buy a used car and, though I'm going to see it tonight with a mechanic, I wonder if anyone has any ideas on the description of the problem the owner found which I've quoted directly:
"has one problem, driving home one day a wrapping noise began under the hood, we believe it needs a valve job or minor motor work.maybe a lifter broke"
Any ideas? I've never had a Saab so I'm not familiar with the noises.

BTW, it's a Saab 900s 4 door 5 speed
