Samsung camera video zooming?

It seems like the samsung cameras(compact ones) cant record sound while zooming. I know this is to cover up the sound the lens make when they zoom but can you turn that "feature" off? I heard you can but never seen it. And if you can how loud is the lens zooming anyways?

That sounds really weird to me, to cover up the lens noise? Most compact cameras won't zoom at all while doing video - this is strange. Perhaps Samsung can advise you further.
