samsung gravity sim card is full? how do i empty it?

I keep getting a notice on my Samsung Gravity phone saying SIM card is full. I thought it meant maybe I texted too much? (I think i had about 50-60 texts in both my inbox and outbox) so I removed half of my total texts but I still keep getting that message. What does it mean?? Please help!
 
The SIM card is where you store phone numbers. The only thing that you can store on SIM cards are contacts, so it wouldn't have anything to do with messaging. And SIM cards usually hold about 250 contacts, so unless you're REALLY popular and have a bunch of numbers, that shouldn't be an issue. Most people never have that problem. Check that and see if it is, and if not, then you might have another problem with your phone.
 
It depends on what you store on it. Some phones let you store messages to the SIM card. Mostly, the SIM card is used for storing contacts.
