Samsung phone--bluetooth??

I have a Samsung a347 and I tried to connect it with bluetooth to some of my friend's cell phones (razor, chocolate, another samsung, etc) and it just won't connect. search for devices and it doesn't find any even thought the other phone is like an inch away.
also, I can't figure out how to change the settings, like the name and stuff.

you have to go into theother phone and disconnect the blue tooth from that phone first. then try to connect it your phone.
