samsung reality phone won't send or receive?

i have had this phone for close to half a year and lately it hasn't been sending / receiving some messages. for the most part it is good and only does this on occasions but it's getting more common. it wouldn't be because i changed the font on it but maybe i'm wrong? why won't it send or receive consistantly?
