Samsung tocco touchscreen broke?

Hey guys my sister in law gave me her samsung tocco the other day as my other phone is broken and today the touchscreen just completly stopped working. Does anybody know how to fix this urself or does it have to be brought into a shop? Anyone that went throught this please help
