romaine? salt and pepper, mayo, vinegar, and mustard. olives? cucumbers? and tomatoes of course.

Mayo or mustard;
Tomatoes;
Onions are good on a sandwich too;
Cheese.

Have you thought about canned tuna or salmon? I add mayo and sometimes a little bit of sweet relish.

My favorites are the shaved meats that come in plastic boxes. You can get all types of meats.

Grilled ham and cheese is great. Take two slices of real American sliced cheese [not that cheese food stuff in the plastic wrappers] and a slice of your ham. Take a little mayo, and a tint bit of dry mustard stirred in, apply that sparingly to the inside of a piece of bread. Slap another piece of of white bread on. Grill it until the cheese melts. The best way is to toast one side of the bread, turn down the heat, turn the sandwich over, and put on a lid to melt the cheese and warm the ham.

Or switch to slices of cheddar cheese, and use rye bread.
I recommend Kraft Delux, or the generic or store brand of it.

I adore Reuben sandwiches, they are just some sort of corned beef, swiss cheese, thousand island dressing and sauerkraut. And it is grilled Some people use russian dressing on it. And of course, good rye bread.

Make a left over turkey sandwich. Take white bread, butter and mayo and prep the bread. layer turkey, leftover stuffing and cranberry sauce.

I love hot chicken or turkey open face on toast points, with gravy. A side of real mashed potatoes works there too.

Make a chicken or turkey fruit salad. Start with cooked diced chicken or turkey. Add sliced apples, halved grapes and halved chunks of pineapple and some raisins. Save some pecans or almonds to sprinkle on top. Make the dressing with mayo or MW, take a glass jar, spoon in the white stuff, add a little orange juice and shake it. You want it so it will be thick enough to stick to the fruit, but thin enough to pour. Stir that onto the salad and stir. Serve on bread, or with crackers. It is a variation of Waldorf salad.
