Sci-fi/fantasy books like the host by stephenie meyer?

I read the host by stephenie meyer a while back, I loved it! now I am taking a futuristic class, sci-fi is VERY much involved. it's gotten me into it. fantasy is my favorite genre whatsoever though. thanks.

a survival sci fi is Life as we Knew it. Maybe one called Prism, where teenagers get trapped in a parallel universe (cliche I know) ad in that world there is no.....well, you've gotta find out. Also maybe Artemis Fowl series, action, robberies, and strangely, fairies. The Artemis ones are bit younger yet still enjoyable
