hey so the other day i was using stumble and one of the things i came across was a study that broke down the science of arguing. it explained why even though people are presented with empirical evidence against them, often times they will adhere to their argument. i think the study suggested that it was our drive to get others to believe in us and get them to back us in our decisions that forces us to so blindly think we are right all the time (i'm not sure on the last part though because i can't remember) i was trying to find this study again to show my friend. if anyone knows what study im talking about or a similar one that has been conducted please post the citation for it here or simply just link. thank you for your help.
