Alright, I'm a full time college student and will be hopefully working for UPS within a week or so and the thing is I'm not gonna be able to afford my jeep cherokee with the hours they're giving me. My dad bought me the jeep but im paying for the gas and insurance. My dad said "it's a bullet proof engine...they're are a lot of parts available for it".

Ive seen it with my own eyes when my dad went off roading with his and went hood deep in swampy water (tricked out to the max..snorkel and all). All these things are great but i don't go off roading. they're other reliable cars out there. where i live it's $40 for 3/4 of the tank filled. i wanted to talk to my old man about a 4 cylinder manual. doesn't have to be a civic and i chose manual because i hear a lot that the trans last longer (dad has a 88 honda prelude and still running strong). What do you guys/girls think?

do you and your dad go 4 wheeling together? It seems to me that if he still has his jeep that he helped you get one so you and him could go together, this effectively makes the safety factor a lot more acceptable and of course the whole idea of being closer with your dad with common interests something very special. I know for a fact that the Inline 6 is not a gas hog, and the 4 cylinder is not going to get much better gas mileage.
