Ok so don't laugh because this is going to sound like a snooty high school drama/soap opera with relationships. But in reality this is about my friends and my life.
So last year me and this girl became really good friends. We would do everything together and she actually became my favorite person! After about 5 months she wrote on my facebook wall and wrote "youre the best bff!" and i replied with "you too best friend!" and then she replied with, "i knew we were best friends! yay!"
I have always wanted a best friend...someone i can share my secrets and aspirations with. I was so happy, but at school, the girl came up to me and started pouring her heart out..I didn't know how to respond but I tried to listen and give advice (aka play the role of a "best friend") but i could tell she was disappointed in my response. I felt bad, but thought she would get over it.
Things were fine for the next few weeks, but we never really talked about being bffs for that time. Then, out of the blue, my friend and this other girl, we'll call her H, started going out and drinking together. I'm not into that stuff, so it caught me off guard. Then, they started doing it every week. I never talked about drinking with my friend, but I could tell she wanted me to join in. I was not going to.
That's when we slowly stopped hanging out and H started popping up everywhere. Then on facebook, she wrote on H's wall, "YOURE MY BEST FRIEND" and then she made an album with just pics of them entitled "Best Friends!"
I was hurt and sad, and i decided to give my friend the cold shoulder for a bit. I intended it to only last for a bit, but slowly I became more and more angry and saddened by my friends behavior.
Today, i cannot stand her. She is mean, vicious, rude, mostly drunk, and obnoxious. And H is still her best friend.
I feel that our friendship went downhill when we labeled each other as best friends. Now, I have a new friend, and we do a lot of stuff together and she's great. She just wrote on my facebook pic, "i love you best friend!"
AAH! idk what to do! last time my experience with "best friends" ended in real sadness. I don't want that again.. How should i respond??
should i like the comment and respond with something?
Should i become "best friends" with her?
This sounds so stupid, but i'm seriously lost as to what i should do! HELP!!!
