Seriously, why does every single cellular manufacturer seem to copy the iphone?

mmmmmmm

No really, it's getting absolutely ridiculous, for example.

1. Every phone seems to have a touchscreen since the release of the first iphone, it's definitely not a coincidence.

2. HTC's currently line of phones all have the iphone pill touch screen shape except for the mytouch which also has a keyboard.

3. Phones started featuring standard audio jacks (3.5mm) after the release of the iphone.

4. iPhone killers keep getting released and failing--the Storm, Droid, etc.

5. Verizon has kept their current strategy of locking their first party apps (On their non-smartphones)

etc.

Will this ever stop, and will the other phone companies eventually realize that they can't compete with apple by copying the iphone? Really...

They could win by:

1. Putting buttons on their phones, getting rid of touchscreens (Or not being reliant on them), and having FULL KEYBOARDS!!!

2. Opening app development on all phones.

3. Not charging for services that should be free (GPS and visual voicemail on verizon for example).

4. Making their phones able to legally hack and thereby sync with itunes ( :) )

5. More free apps!

6. Making cellular plans simpler and getting rid of the outdated concept of being charged per minute and for text messages like Sprint did.

7. Sneaking into Steve Jobs' office and remotely destroying the software on everyone's iPhones...
