Settle an arguement: Is God an Atheist?

This is a question a friend of mine raised at a gathering recently, and his logic seemed so sound nobody could quite argue against him.
Behold:
If you believe in God, you are a believer. If you don;t, you;re an atheist (and if you're too lazy to decide, you;re agnostic, but thats irrelevant).
However it is KNOWN by believers that there is no power higher than God. Therefore God himself would not believe in any other higher power. Therefore he is an atheist.

So can anyone think of a way to argue this point without resorting to blind statements of faith that don't apply any amount of logic at all?
