So I've been taking the same brand birth control pills for close to 3 years now. I originally started taking them for my skin but now since I am sexually active I use it to prevent pregnancy as well.
About 3 weeks ago, my face started breaking out really bad, which was odd because I haven't had skin problems in well over a year now. I think I may need a higher dosage pill now that I have been taking this brand for 3 years.
Also, I have been seeing this guy for a few months and we had sex for the first time last week. I am very good about taking my pills at the same time every day, and we also used a condom for extra protection. He finished inside of me with the condom on and it did NOT break.
Exactly a week later, I started having dull period cramps and an ache in my lower right back. Now it is 2 days later and the cramps and back ache are worse. I am not supposed to start my period for 7 more days. Usually my cramps don't start til 1-2 days before my period. And Last time my back hurt like this it was when I had a UTI in high school. Could this be early PMS if I need to be on a higher dosage birth control pill? Also, does birth control become less effective the longer you take it? Does your body become "immune" to the hormones?
How likely do you guys think it is that I am pregnant? I am always SUPER paranoid about being pregnant every time I have sex (which is rare). I know the only 100% way to be sure is abstinence, but I take my pills at the EXACT same time every day and always use condoms and I still get worried. I just want to be able to have sex and not have to worry about babies!
