Okay, the thing is that for one thing, its not that hard for girls to imagine how uncomfortable it may be in "that" area when a guy wears tight tights!
Trust me, I had to have guys wear tights/leggings for a theatre production of Romeo and Juliet, and once more for "The Romancers," and believe me they were not very happy with wearing them! They are tight. They begged me if they could cut them in some way or just wear thigh highs, and eventually we did have them wear thigh highs so it wouldn't be too tight around you-know-where.
Also, think about how baggy pants are really in for guys. Or not even baggy, but somewhat loose. Shorts and leggings is just on the opposite end of the spectrum. Not really the right time for it to come into fashion right now!
Maybe sometime in the future.
But for now, we just like our guys in shorts, no tights/leggings.
