Should bridesmaid's shoes all be the same or could they have different style shoes?

We are in the proccess of shoe shopping for bridesmaid's shoes and i'm still not sure if they should all be the same or they can have different style shoes....I already know what color I want them to have but as far are the style she they each pick thier own?
