should christians follow nostradamus?

my moms a big time holy roller and her sister was telling her about nostradamus, and now shes really interested. i really have no real idea of what beliefs he followed besides his own when it comes to religions he followed. i just know the basics about him, but should i get my mom into him or anything of that sort?
 
You can't follow Nostradamus. The only reason people even speak of his "prophecies" is because they've taken world events and made them fit his quatrains. I've yet to hear anyone come to the media with a prophecy of his before it happens. This is because he wasn't a prophet, he was a political writer, and a pretty good one too, of his time who used secret wording to criticize the rulers of his time. To directly answer your question, no, you shouldn't even pay attention to him.
 
If we were suppose to follow him the Bible would have said so--instead the Bible says to be aware of false prophets and to test the spirits.
For some people it comforts them to think a person can guide them through the unknowns of life. so they can "prepare" for what is being prophesied by a certain person. Jesus said "Follow Me" that He is The Way..The Truth and The Light.. If you study the Bible you can find alot more facts of what will happen in the world then from any human being-which is all that Nostradamus is.
If you donot agree with their views the best you can do is pray for them and give your views Biblical if you believe.
Should you encourage her? No but more impotantly do not let yourself get taken in ..this is not going down the narrow path towards Jesus and awesome eternal life
