hourly wage after I prove myself? The company is a local startup, they seem very Google-like. They promote work-life balance, even have a ping pong table in the middle of the office. Young group, fun.
The guy who started the company graduated in 2000.
Well, I went for an interview, they said they'd let me work in Marketing, PR + outside agencies that they work with, and do design work because as a new hire I am 1/3 people in that company that knows Adobe CS5.
They said their internships start out unpaid, and after I have exceeded expectations, the issue of monetary compensation will be brought up and I can become a paid intern.
I am a college student, I live on my own with no connections to family/relatives (they are crazy cultural, wanted me to drop out and get married), I'm struggling to pay bills, in 16G student loan debt. I may not be able to go full-time next semester because I'm a senior and my classes are limited in availability. Should I work another job, and take on this internship? It seems like a great opportunity minus the pay.
I've held 4 jobs over the past 3 1/2 years. Never been fired. Two I've worked since freshman year, one I worked for 2 years and quit. I've also worked a business internship before that paid $13 an hour.
