I booked in a travel agents through First Choice. 2 hours later I found the same holiday on the internet for £400 cheaper, the company was also First Choice. When I called the shop they told me that they could not match the price or refund me my deposit as the internet were a completely different entity to them. The receipt they gave me stated that it was just a receipt and not a confirmation of booking and that cancellation and amendment charges would only apply one the holiday had been confirmed by the travel supplier.
Am I within my right to insist they refund my deposit? One of the girls was quite rude to me and said "it's like if you were to buy a jumper in a shop, and then take it back, what would happen?" I told her they would give me a full refund?!? I would be very grateful for all of your input - thanks
