That is what dentists prescribe for your symptoms and yes, it can stain the teeth. The staining is not permanent though and can be removed by the hygienist when she cleans your teeth.  I use both Crest Pro Health toothpaste and mouth wash daily and it does not stain your teeth, in fact it whitens them by removing surface stains.
