The Solstice is not so great a car. The 2006 Pontiac Solstice is a car for teenage girls with a love of cosmetics or midlife-crisis guys happy to get a budget boy-racer image without the performance to back it up. Those wanting a real roadster experience should look elsewhere.

The Boxster is great car - major fault/major advantage is that it can make you feel like you are a much better driver than you really are. The car is almost without vices - but it does go through rear tires as though they were made of butter. It's a real performance roadster. And, it just looks more cool pulling up in a Porsche than a Pontiac.

Depending on the mileage, condition and previous maintenance performed - go with the Porsche all things being equal. It will keep a better resale value in the long run. The value of the Solstice will drop like a rock in years to come.

Boxster is a far better machine. I like the Pontiac but it will not hold up as well over time.
Plus, the Boxster will not deppreciate much lower.
