Should I buy a husky pup with a bruised shoulder?

I am looking into buying a 6-7 month old husky pup that is in need of a new home but the owner told me yesterday that he had run into a wall this past weekend and was limping. He said he thinks he just bruised his shoulder. He supposedly took him to a "retired vet" either last night or this morning and he confirmed it was just bruised. What makes me leary is that I talked to this guys sister first about the dog and she told me the real reasons why he was getting rid of the dog....when I talked to him, he pretty much sugar coated everything so now do I believe that the pups shoulder is just bruised? I'm thinking maybe I should take him to my vet before I pay him for him. Just wanting a few opinions.....
 
My opinion No! why is it bruised thrown up against a wall kicked? Broken bones?Abused?
 
Yes, I would definately take him to your own vet first. You do not want to get the dog and have possibly large vet bills right away.
 
I wouldnt take the dog, period. If the people lied about any aspect of this pet, chances are, there are other problems that they are neglecting to mention or glossing over. They will probably not agree to letting you have your vet check it out, knowing it wont have a positive result. I'd seriously get in contact with a husky rescue or shelter, there are so many of these little friends out there that need new lives. They are great, but challenging dogs that need a lot of love, and without proper health and breeding can have serious health issues that will ruin your outlook of the breed. Hopefully you havent already fallen in love with this little dog, if you havem proceed cautiously and get things in writing to guarantee his health!
 
Can i ask why should you have to pay for Vets fee, when its the owners responsability to take it to a Vet that is not Retired. It seems to me he is pulling a flanker on you.
You could also try another idea to him, tell him you take him to your vets, but will knock the price off of the dog he is asking for. That way if he agrees, you will have a peace of mind that your Vet can or cannot confirm if this dog as a bruised shoulder or not. Either way you are caught in bewteen a rock and a hard place with this Seller. If he is really concerned about the dog, i am sure he wont mind knocking some money off of the price.

You could tell the owner you would like to tank the dog to the vet to be checked out before you purchase him- you pay the vet charge though. Just say you want to make sure he is healthy otherwise. He should be fine with this, if not then obviously he didn't really take the dog to the vet.
 
yes this definitely sounds very sus.
suddenly, the pup has a "bruised shoulder". it could be a serious injury which he is trying to disguise as a minor one. if he allows u to take it to the vet first, that would be the best thing to do. if the vet confirms that it is in fact just a bruised shoulder then i dont see a huge problem in buying the dog. just warning you though, he sounds like a backyard breeder, you could consider going to another place and looking into other dogs

If You Really Love The Puppy, Then You Should Get Him, But Maybe Take Him To The Vet Before Purchasing Him.

I would do just that if I were you. I have done the same even when buying puppies from reputable show breeders, the contract is always subject to vet check within 7 days, and sale can be canceled if there are any problems found. In this case, since the seller has not been completely honest with you, I would withhold payment until the pup has been checked out. If there is really nothing wrong, he should have no problem with that.
