About 3 months ago I bought two dwarf hamsters, they live together in a cage and have always lived together in the pet shop I bought them from. Recently one of my hamster's died from wet tail, I understand that this is stress related and have been told the other hamster could also get stressed through the death of their cage mate. My hamster died on Friday and I didn't particularly want to get another one this soon, however in my best interests of the living one I think I should buy another too keep it company. Is this too soon and will my hamster be able to accept a new one straight away or will this cause too much stress for them both ?
