Should I change the appearance of my villains?

I've created a whole new world. I'm 150+ pages into my novel already. My villains are these figures who are cloaked in black. They ride horses and kill people with swords if they are in their way of power. They are trying to take over this world. I was watching Lord of the Rings this weekend though and it hit me. These figures look and act very similar. My main character does eventually come face to face with one of the strongest of these figures. He actually has a face; also has powers. I'm just wondering if I should change these figures. Based on the fact that they uses horses, swords, are evil, and wear black cloaks; does that mean I am copying the Lord of the Rings? I would absolutely hate to do that. When writing, I never noticed the similarities. Now, I just feel really stupid. I hope I'm not copying them. :(

Please, could you give me some helpful advice? Thank you!
