I was at Costco yesterday and saw a blu-ray player for $380. For a while I have planned on getting a ps3 as a blu-ray player. I read it was pretty much the cheaper and better blu-ray player around. So I wanted to know if I should stick with the ps3 or get this. (Here is the link to what I saw http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11225997&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US&s=1

There are a few games I want for ps3 and some older ps1 and ps2 games I want but mainly I want this as a blu-ray player. is this the best bet or will this be just as fine and save me money?

PS3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, you can even play the ps1 and ps2 games on it as well as old dvd's and blu-ray (most likely not TOSHIBA's HD-DVD) but everything else works. ^_^

The PS3 has the best blu-ray player on the market and the fact that it becomes a full entertainment centre is a no brainer.

You will not regret purchasing one. The player is fast and quality as perfect as can be expected.

You can play PS2 games on it and in fact there is some PS2 compatable software available to download free from the PS Store to make even more games work.

I agree with most of the people that have already answered your question. I just purchased a PS3 to be my Blu Ray and have really been satisfied. Not only can you watch Blu Ray movies you can watch DiVix and many other forms of video. It can up convert regular DVDs and it has great games. You also can surf the net with the PS3! The only downside of the PS3 it does make a small amount of noise when running. Some of the audiophiles will hate this but for the regular Joe it won't bother you. Also you are forced to use a blue tooth remote so many Universal remotes are not compatible. But it is a great system. Buy the 80 gig model as it comes with built in WiFi and is backward compatible for you PS1 and PS2 games.

PS3 is without a question, the best blu ray player out right now. It can do more and is more future-proof than players costing $1500+. So a PS3 is gonna do WAY more than any "$380" blu ray player. Just stick with PS3. You can grab a 40GB which has built-in wifi for just $399.
