Should i get the 2.4 Ghz core 2 Quad?

Hello all, quick question :)

I currently have the current rig:


- 2.8 ghz core 2 duo
-4 gb ram ddr 2
-XFX 8800 GT 512 DDR3 alpha dog edition
-Intel MSI 950 motherboard

I want to increase my gaming power so i was thinking of getting a quad core and a new motherboard from nvidia.

the processor im thinking of getting is the 2.4 ghz core 2 QUAD

should i get it? will it increase performance?
